What is Asbestosis?
Asbestosis is a chronic inflammation of the lung tissue that occurs when somebody has been exposed to asbestos over a period of time or when they have inhaled asbestos fibres. Asbestosis is said to occur as a result of long term exposure to asbestos such as working in an industry where you have repeatedly come into contact with asbestos. Asbestosis is known to be an occupational lung disease. People working in mining and manufacturing are said to be the most at risk of developing asbestosis. Sufferers are urged to visit their doctors for regular screenings and x-rays due to the increased risk of developing problems.
